SMB Set 03
Confirmed: Gish, Tim, Viridian, The Kid
I also intend to include a small number of Flywrench, but have not contacted the developer yet.
This set should be done being designed and produced (and will go up for sale) in 3-4 weeks.
$7 “Reject” Toys
Every one of the toys is imperfect by nature of the 3D printing process, but some are more imperfect than others. I careful inspect and try to clean up each individual toy. Those toys that have imperfections that I cannot sufficiently minimize will soon be available for half the price of the normal toys.
Examples of imperfections that would put a toy in the $7 category include glue spots or small scratches on the face, minor discolorations, and a unusually high level of shininess.
Toys with major flaws will not go up for sale.
Updated Product Pics
The new store uses square images instead of rectangular images. My original images don’t have enough room to show the entire toy inside of a square even with scaling and cropping. I’m going to take new images of all the past toys.
Somewhat obvious changes to the store, explained:
Move from Etsy to Big Cartel
There are two big reasons for the change. One is for more control over the look and feel of the store. The other is that Big Cartel does not take a portion of store profits, so I can keep prices lower.
This isn’t going to make a big difference in the way toys are sold. Paypal is still the only payment option. To see the shipping cost, you need to select your country inside the shopping cart.
Price Change
The price for toys has gone up two dollars. If I were sticking with Etsy, the increase would have been closer to three dollars. First and foremost: the price has been raised because the price for making the toys was raised by the printing company.
Besides that, when I set the original price, there were factors that I did not consider. So far, this project has barely payed for itself. I want it to make money so that each set can be larger than the one before. Also, the project requires a ton of my time and I need to feed my family!
The shipping prices have not changed: $3.49 USA, $4.49 international, $0.50 for each toy after the first.
Non-SMB Toys
I’ve released toys representing characters from BIT.TRIP and Canabalt to expand Voxelous beyond Super Meat Boy toys.
Please use the contact form on the Voxelous website if you’ve got a great idea for a toy or if you’re a game dev and you want to see your own character as a toy. I strongly prefer to work with pixel art, but will consider others.
First of all: I am so sorry for the huge delay in restocking and putting out new toys.
My wife’s pregnancy was really difficult this past month. On top of taking care of her, I was doing a lot more housework and errand-running than usual. Also, I made way too many trips to the hospital.
She finally got prescribed an anti-nausea medicine that is actually working and now she’s keeping food down! I am happy to report that wife and baby are doing awesome now (we still have over half of the pregnancy to go). Now I have enough time to get back to Voxelous and my wife is feeling well enough to help out!
